The
Himalayas present an amazing variety of magnificent landscapes, ranging
from stark high altitude deserts, alpine lakes and meadows, to sub-tropical
jungles. The Himalayas are also the home of several distinct races and
religions. All have kept alive their unique languages, dress, rituals,
music and dance. We offer Group Treks on some outstanding Himalayan trails.
We also arrange custom treks on these and many other routes.
Trekking
in the Himalayas provides rich interaction with this unspoiled civilization,
as well as stupendous views of giant mountains upto 29,000 ft high. Treks
range from easy 4-7 day alpine walks upto 10,000 ft., to tough 21-day expeditions
crossing high passes upto 18,000 ft. (See Trek Grades on page2).
All
High Points' treks and expeditions are managed by our own staff. We are
justifiably proud of our Trek Managers, who have painstakingly trained
our teams of cooks, camp assistants and porters to maintain a high standard
of safety, quality camp-management, hygiene, and great food. Meals on High
Points' treks and climbing expeditions are equivalent in quality to a first
class restaurant, in hygiene standards as well as in variety and taste.
Most food is prepared from fresh vegetables and meats. A warm lunch is
served midway along the trail on most days.
All camps are set up by our crew, and are usually ready by the time our guests arrive each afternoon. Each tent has plenty of space for two persons and their personal baggage. In addition, our camps are equipped with kitchen tents, dining tents, camp tables and stools, toilet tents etc.
